Dr. Tracy Carver – Skilled Austin TX Psychotherapist
Hello and thanks for stopping by! I’m Dr. Tracy Carver, psychotherapist and the owner of Vibrant Counseling. I come from a unique upbringing. From the time I was born to the time I graduated high school, my father served as an active duty member of the U.S. Marine Corps. Being part of the military meant that we moved from coast to coast every three to four years. I was born in California, learned to ride a bike in Japan, and went to my first school dance in North Carolina. Looking back, I actually went to 8 different schools between kindergarten and 12th grade. Whew! After living in so many different places, I feel very lucky to call the city of Austin home. As the saying goes, “I wasn’t born in Texas, but I got here as fast as I could.”
When I’m not “therapizing”, I enjoy going to music festivals, practicing yoga, listening to podcasts by my favorite comedians, and learning to play the drums.
Go VCU Rams!
I graduated summa cum laude from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, with a minor in Biology.
Hook ’em horns!
I moved to Austin to attend the Counseling Psychology doctoral program at The University of Texas.
It’s pronounced “Hahvahd“
I was selected to be a clinical fellow at Harvard Medical School, where I completed my predoctoral internship in Clinical Psychology.
You can call me Doc!
I graduated from UT-Austin with a PhD in Counseling Psychology and a Master’s degree in Educational Psychology.
Dream becomes reality
On the first day of grad school, when my classmates were talking about going into academia, I had a very different goal in mind. I wanted to create my own private practice and serve the Austin community. In 2015, this dream became a reality. I’m grateful everyday to do what I love and help others at the same time.
Thank you Austin!
I was named the Best Mental Health Professional in Austin by Austin Fit Magazine.
I am an award winning Licensed Psychologist in the State of Texas (License No. 37334). I studied at the University of Texas at Austin, earning a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology and an M.A. in Educational Psychology. I also trained at Harvard University, completing a full-time internship in Clinical Psychology through Harvard Medical School.
